Either way, we will detail an inventory of your rooms, contents, unique packing requirements, disassembly or re-assembly items, packing materials required, any desired packing services, the physical layout of rooms, fragile or unique items, and other relevant details specific to your move, such as 3rd party service and storage. Whether it is a local move, a long-distance move, a commercial move, or a special move, Cincinnati Movers will detail a moving plan that is both efficient and affordable. Our moving plan outlines and details the packing (if selected), loading, logistics, unloading, and unpacking (if selected) of your move. We will also provide details of custom services such as vehicle moving, storage, 3rd-party services, etc. From our phone conversation or in-home consultation, we will accurately and quickly provide you with a moving estimate as part of our moving plan.
The estimate will be complete in terms of all costs, including optional services such as storage, packing, unpacking, third-party services, etc. The professional moving plan will outline all the logistics and estimate the time required to pack (if chosen), load, unload, and unpack (if chosen). 1 Week Before You Move:
- Choose your moving date; ideally, include a few dates in case we have a reservation for your specific date.
- Perform house hunting trips, reviews of city guides, public and private school evaluations, etc.
- Ask your employer if they will reimburse you for your relocation; inquire about the rates and methods of reimbursement; and
- Think about having a yard or garage sale to reduce the number of items you need to move but don't need or want. Also, consider donating items to local charities.
1-2 Months Before Your Relocation:
- Call Cincinnati Movers to schedule a moving consult with one of our moving consultants.
- Enter into a contract or lease agreement for your new property.
- Notify everyone you need to inform about your move, including friends, family, newspapers, magazines, and creditors;
- Get a change of address card from your local post office;
- Work with your new school system(s) when transferring your children.
- If you're relocating out of state, check with the new state Department of Motor Vehicles about licensing requirements.
- Get with your insurance agent about any changes to your homeowners' policy, and
- Snap photos of your residence for any insurance claims.
3 Weeks Before Your Relocation:

- Contact utility companies (heat, electric, water, sewer, trash, cable, satellite, etc.) to have them disconnected after your move-out date, andSimilarly, contact your new utility providers to arrange for everything to be operational the day before your move.

- Drain the gas and oil from your lawn equipment and other power tools; again, we cannot transport them if they contain flammable liquids.
1 Week Before You Move:
- Re-confirm your moving date with family and friends.

- Clean and empty all appliances, such as freezers, ranges, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc.
